Minimum Requirements for Applicants

Support Positions

In order to qualify for a Support position, an applicant must:

Be at least 18 years of age
Be a High School graduate or have equivalent (GED)
Never convicted of a felony
No drug use within the past 12 months
Have good moral character

Sworn Positions (Deputy or Detention Deputy)

Benefits include:

100% Paid Retirement

Tuition Reimbursement (eligible after 12 months of employment)
Salary Incentive for an Associate and/or Bachelors Degree
Eligible to participate in the Sergeant Promotional Process after eighteen months of employment.
MCSO pays for the cost of Equivalency of Training Course (Trans Out-Of-State Certificate to Florida Certification)

In order to qualify for a Sworn position, an applicant must:

Be at least 19 years of age
Be a United States citizen; native born or naturalized
Be a High School graduate or have equivalent (GED)
No drug use within the past 12 months
Never convicted of a felony
Never convicted of Domestic Battery
Have good moral character
